As you can probably imagine, this can be a bit of a nightmare. The bike’s been in pieces for a very long time and so it’s very difficult to work out what goes where. So, I tried to be very methodical. First, the engine/clutch/gearbox need to go together, then the frame can be fitted around them. Next, the swinging arm, front forks, suspension components and wheels (with brake discs) and side-stand can be added; then you have a rolling chassis that you can wheel out of the garage to work on in the sunshine. The electronics tray was already fitted to the frame. I had great fun working out where and how to fit the rear-set footpegs/controls, and routing the clutch cable – the photos and video were invaluable.
