The largest part of any motorcycle refurbishment is cleaning. As I’ve said, everything on this bike was filthy when I bought it. So, I very carefully cleaned each item as it came off the bike, making use of my cleaning tank, which has a pump, and degreasing solution. There are things that need specialist treatment: I did use the services of a vapour blaster for cylinder barrels, cylinder heads and the wheel hubs, and these look like new now. But items that the vapour blaster didn’t see (and so don’t look new!) are the gearbox, rear bevel drive, main engine casing and so on.
