It seems to me that our leaders have some great ideological thoughts, but they don’t think them right through. We’re only supposed to have electric cars from 2030, but what about lorries? What about ships? What about aeroplanes? I can’t see these vital methods of communication moving to electrical power until the technology is there for it. It’s also painfully clear that there are very many people who live in places where there simply isn’t the infrastructure to support EVs. Yet we seem to be marching blindly in that direction. Can we please have some sensible thinking?
Then again there’s the apparent insistence that domestic heating should move to heat pump technology. Is that really realistic?
