This blog/ web site is simply a record of my ramblings. You might want to understand why I’ve bothered writing all of this.
I woke up very early recently thinking about ‘stuff’. It occurred to me that as I’ve become older, I’ve felt a need to make sense of things. So, I thought it might be interesting to present an analysis of what seems to me to be needed for a nation to be led systematically, without bias but with ‘proper’ direction.
As you read, please bear in mind that where I express opinions, they should probably be ignored; I think that what’s important is that we think about some of the issues that interest us, and how our views and experience are impacted by the work of our leaders and those working on their behalf.
To get back to the basic theme, what should government be interested in? Probably, everything that goes on in the nation, to some extent or other, and probably it needs to make decisions about what’s important, and which things can be ignored. But I suspect that the vagaries of fashion may cause some issues to seem of more interest than they merit, and there are other issues on which there will always be disagreement.
I’ve always maintained that I’m not interested in politics. Indeed, for the most part, I find the topic less than interesting. But I am interested in the reasons behind things, and I do care about how things are organised. I’ve also found that whenever I’ve become interested in anything, it isn’t straightforward; everything seems complicated. I’m not into philosophy, but I do think that it’s important that someone else pays attention. Answers to questions might not seem interesting, but I suspect the underlying thinking is.
