There are a lot of things said about ambition, but the one that chimes with me is that ambition is the best indicator of success.
If you work for a small organisation, then your options will be more limited, so you’ll either need to make changes that further the organisation, or you’ll need to widen the scope of your ambition outside of your current employer. The world is your oyster.
If you don’t have ambition to further your career, then that’s perfectly OK. But don’t then complain if your career seems not to move much.
Your ambition need not be restricted by your ability. We’ve all known people who work in jobs that they’re entirely unsuitable for. My English is pretty poor, but it didn’t stop me from publishing this, did it?
